How to Recover from Google Penguin ?

Last year, Google had introduced an algorithm namely Google Panda which was used by Google to clean up the low quality sites from the search results and get the high quality sites on the top of Search Results Pages (SERPs). This algorithm has affected a lot of bloggers and webmasters’ rankings on the Search Engines which made them against Google Panda. And a majority of people were fed of it and here comes another animal from the house of Google to take out more tears from the eyes of bloggers namely Google Penguin.

What is Google Penguin ?

Google Penguin is an algorithm introduced by Google to fight against those webpages or websites which are spamming the Search Engines. In a case, Spamming means websites which use unethical ways to rank high on search engines like Keyword Stuffing, Hidden links, copied content, etc.

This update was introduced and implemented just a few days back, and had affected a lot of spam containing sites which were ranking high on Search Engines. And all of those who were affected by this update, they are already trying to get recovered from it. So, looking on to the condition, we have come up with this post to give you a few tips on how to recover from Google Penguin Update’s Effect ?

Have you Been Hit?

To find out that if you’re hit by Penguin or not, just check your analytic stats and navigate to your organic traffic section and if you see any downfall in your organic traffic around the date of April 24th, that means that your site is a victim of Google Panda.

If you feel like you’ve been hit by Penguin with no reasons, then you can put a reconsideration request from here.

How to Recover from Google Penguin?

So, if you have confirmed that your website has been hit by this latest algorithm of Google, then let us move on to share some Panda Recovery Tips.

Avoid/Remove Duplicate Content

The first and the foremost thing you need to do if your site is a victim of Panda is to remove all the duplicate content from your site. In future, try only fresh, unique and quality content if you want your site to rank high on Search Engines. Also, if you’re allowing guest posts, then you need to check that everything is alright with the guest posts.

Avoid Building Unusual/Bulk Links

If you’re building such links which are not even similar to your niche, then such aren’t worth it and even Google states it. So, try to build links from only those blogs which are relevant to your niche. Also, if you’re starting building links in BULK or even buying them in bulk, then avoid doing so it is also considered as SPAM by Google and you can be affected for the same.

Avoid Keyword Stuffing

Keyword Stuffing is another unethical practice in which people try to stuff their post full of keywords with an intention to rank high on Search Engines. If you think you had also done Keyword Stuffing and that is the only reason you got hit by Penguin, then you can fix your content and then put a reconsideration request from here.

Use Keyword Density Averagely

If you want to write SEO rich posts and want to recover from Panda, then try to reach a good score on keyword density. Well, Keyword density is the measure of the number of time a keyword phrase is used on a webpage. You should try to score average around 2% Keyword Density to get good results. As  having too much or too less keyword density can affect your site.

Other One-Liner Tips

Some other tips I can give you are, ‘Write for readers, not for Search Engines’, also try to utilize Social Media as it is also important for your site to gain success on the long run. And avoid buying links & using Cheap SEO services, and finally do not use any Black hat Methods to rank high on Search Engines.

So, here I’m done with sharing some Penguin recovery tips. I hope these tips will certainly work for you and let you get recovered from Google Penguin Effect :D !

I would recommend to replace “Use Keyword Density Averagely ” with generating content with LSI keywords i.e relevant keywords and synonyms which users will actually type in the search box.

Great Tips, google penguin is the current trending topics in the world of seo.

  3. Kuldeep, these are great suggestions. Penguin got those folks who used bulk link builders using all the same anchor texts from irrelevant sites. This used to work but no longer does. People would do well to heed your suggestions!
